With In the Studio with Noel W Anderson, we come along for a visit with the American artist in his Bronx studio as he prepares for his selling exhibition in the Paris Sales in October. The selling exhibition entitled Electric Boogie, Help Us Find the Funk will mark Anderson’s first solo exhibition in Paris ever. Anderson's show drafts its title from the synthesis of two significant African American dance classics: Marci Griffiths’ Electric Boogie (1983) and Parliament-Funkadelic’s Flash Light (1977). This exhibition presents Anderson's signature woven images in an exploration of Black dance as a location of joy and release.
